Our Time at NEARCON 2022 in Photos
NEARCON 2022 was one of the highlights of our year. We met our community for the first time and showcased what our NFT ticketing tech can do.
October was another month full of new partnership announcements, platform feature releases and lots of hard work. Read about it in this project update.
As the team grows and we get more feedback from our users, the progress we’re making every month continues to accelerate. October was another great month for us as we released new platform features and announced some significant partnerships.
There’s a lot to get through, so let’s get straight into it.
We’re starting with the important stuff.
New feature releases will be coming thick and fast over the coming months. The ball is well and truly rolling when it comes to development, and we’re working through our roadmap to deliver all of the groundbreaking things we’ve promised.
Last month we went live with our desktop checkout for those users wanting to purchase on a tablet, laptop or desktop device.
Until now, anybody who wanted to buy a ticket or collectable needed to download our app and complete the purchase on their smartphone.
This update reduces friction and gives people different options for making purchases. Once somebody buys a ticket via our desktop marketplace, they’ll be prompted to download our app to claim it. Anything they purchase from the desktop marketplace is reserved to their mobile number, so when they download and set up the app, their tickets and collectables will be waiting for them in their wallet.
Check out the desktop marketplace here.
We’ve also introduced a verified seller feature that clearly identifies verified sellers with a green tick next to their names. We’ve implemented this to improve transparency for fans, helping them find pre-vetted sellers quickly and easily when browsing events.
The biggest partnership news of October was, without a doubt, our deal with elrow Dubai to become their exclusive VIP ticketing partner for the upcoming elrow XXL festival in February 2023. All VIP tickets for the event will be issued as NFT via our marketplace. We’ll also be providing NFT collectables, airdrops and on-site gamified installations that people can interact with using the SeatlabNFT app.
The team has also entered into talks with several big names in the music and entertainment industry who are exploring the opportunities our Immersive Fan Pass programme can provide. Obviously, we can’t go into any more detail about specific negotiations at this stage, but as soon as we can, we’ll be making a lot of noise. You won’t be able to miss it!
2022 has been a rough year for the broader crypto market, which is why we delayed the trading lunch of $SEAT until October. The good news is that trading went live on 27th October over on Ref Finance! We’ve had a fantastic response from our community, and it’s been great to see $SEAT traded on the open market finally.
Read the full announcement here.
To celebrate trading going live, we created a yield farm where anybody can earn big rewards paid out in $SEAT every day. All you have to do is add liquidity to our liquidity pool and deposit the LP tokens you receive in return into the farm. Check out this in-depth guide that we put together if you want to know more about how farming works.
We looked back at our massively successful Seatlab Sounds tour that saw big-name DJs, including Clean Bandit and Hardy Caprio, hit seven of the UK’s most well-known universities during freshers week. Thousands of students attended the events, each using one of our fully functional NFT tickets to get in.
This is what mass adoption looks like.
It’s safe to say that it was a great way for the students who attended to kick off the new academic year. Take a look for yourself in our Seatlab Sounds recap.
During this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, we hosted an NFT-ticketed side party with The Bliss Office. On Friday 21st October, guests were invited to join us for an exclusive dinner at the riverside BAUT Oost venue in the heart of Amsterdam before the event progressed into a night of music supplied by DJs including Øostil, The Element, Undercat, Glowal, Cellini and Axel Haube.
We want to do more than develop an NFT ticketing platform. We want to build an event experience platform that uses NFT and Web3 technology to improve the immersiveness of attending live events and interacting with artists.
As the end of the year approaches, we’re doubling down on our efforts to develop all of the features that will make our platform truly revolutionary.
We aren’t planning any more of our own events between now and Christmas. Instead, we’re using the time to push forward with our development roadmap and to progress the talks we’re in with big-name artists and brands so that 2023 is a MASSIVE year.
Rest assured, 2023 will be a big one…
We’ve got some huge partnerships to announce over the coming weeks and months, and we’re almost ready to release some more genuinely industry-leading platform features very soon.
